baby was raised by mom. now she wen to my house and fetch the baby without my permission,she said i must not visit te baby and she gona change surname of my baby. what must i do now. can i take her to court or what. on friday she call me and ask permission to see the baby and i told her to go and fetch the baby on condition that baby its retain on sunday. when she went there she tell my mom that she here to take the baby for good and we will not be allow to vist her again. pls may assist. the baby is staying with my mom and we allowed her to vist the bay. i know i dnt stand a chance to fight with her in court of law but i wanna try and fight for custody. background i ma working as mmotor mechanic self employer., my mom get pensioner so she is unemployed and still student? doo tjhink she gona claim maitenance from me? do u think its right thing to take her tocourt? do think what she did its right thing to do? do u think she take law on her own hands?can i take laws on y own hands also

You are right – most courts would say that the child belongs with it’s mother. However, you had the girl since she was a baby and there must have been a very good reason. Maybe you can use that to show that you should have custody of her? If the mother is unfit, such a drug addict, alcoholic, prostitute, doesn’t have a regular home, or can’t provide what the little girl needs and you can prove it, you might have a chance. You might have to take a paternity test to prove that you are the father if you want to fight for custody and you definitely should take one if she sues you for support.

Sometimes it’s hard to find the money for a lawyer, but even to talk to one to get their advice would be helpful.

As far a snatching the baby back from her like she did to you, you are risking losing everything by doing that because the law will be on the mother’s side in that situation.

Why would she take the girl after 5 years? What has changed in her life? If you know or find out that, maybe that will help you also.
